On October 21st and October 22nd we will be performing scheduled upgrades for the Symbl APIs. These upgrades will take place between [1:30AM - 1:30PM] UTC on both days.
WHAT ARE WE DOING? Upgrading GCP GKE cluster version (control plane/worker nodes) from v1.24 to 1.26. Checking and updating deprecated APIs. Updating worker nodes (rolling update 1 node at a time).
WHY ARE WE DOING IT? GKE v1.24 will reach end of life (EoL) on October 31, 2023.. After EoL, GKE v1.24 becomes unsupported, unavailable for new cluster creation, and will no longer receive security patches or bug fixes.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT We do not expect services to be completely down during these windows, but Symbl API Requests may experience intermittent failures while this maintenance is being carried out.
